Study With Adam Guitar Legend – Craig Relyea

By Adam Rafferty 1 Comment

Good news folks! I found another legendary Study With Adam student. For this month, let’s get to know our Study With Adam Guitar Legend, Craig Relyea!

I got a chance to talk with Craig about his music, and we had a great time making this video.

Craig Relyea is based in San Francisco Bay Area, California. He started his membership in Study With Adam on April 1, 2015. He plays a Goodall MCJ and a Maton EBG 808 guitar. How cool is that? He is into acoustic instrumental/fingerstyle guitar arrangements, blues, and R&B music. Some of Craig’s favorite guitarists are Tommy Emmanuel, Robben Ford, Emil Ernebro, James Taylor, and yours truly (Adam Rafferty). Craig Relyea is working on an album of solo fingerstyle guitar tunes, mostly original.

Our guitar legend, Craig, has been playing guitar since he was a kid. Here’s an exciting experience in his journey as a (much) younger guitarist… He was in a rock band that played every Friday night one summer at The Troubadour in L.A. and had one of his original rock songs played on L.A. radio.

But wait, there’s more! As a middle-aged guitarist, he once played in a jazz quartet at a corporate event where they shared the stage with Run DMC.

As an older (wiser?) fingerstyle guitarist, he has over 5,400 subscribers on YouTube, and over 7,200 Instagram followers. Last year, he composed a brief remix featuring the talented young singer Cameron Goode that generated over 1.5M views on Instagram.

What an amazing journey! Watch our Study With Adam Guitar Legend, Craig Relyea, in his performance in the video below!

Loved the interview with Craig. He’s great. His comments about your teaching are spot on!

Would love to see more interviews. How about Loren Barrigar?
