The first version I did on this was a hit…and I felt it was time to make an updated video showing how the arrangement has evolved and settled over the years.
I’m sure in a few years it will change again 🙂
The inspiration for this “walking bass” arrangement comes from the Richard Groove Holmes organ version. Be sure to look that up on YouTube!
Anytime we played “Misty” in the Harlem nightclubs, we played this walking bass swing groove, with those chord “stabs”.
(FYI – the rubato intro I play up front is inspired by Joe Pass.)
